Villa Ataraxia

The central building consists of two elongated volumes developing in two directions, on two levels.
The distribution of volumes is arranged in a way that allows the tenants to receive the southern view of the sea from all spaces, closed or open, creating a private alcove, protected from the northern winds, that accommodates the rectangular swimming pool and the outdoor living spaces.
The ground level of the main building accommodates the living spaces, and a light-filled staircase leads to the floor, housing two spacious bedrooms and their separate bathrooms.
Local stone from the excavations is upcycled in the hardscape of the garden and in selected building volumes.
Landscaping emulates the natural local vegetation, with low aromatic bushes and olives that keep the hard surfaces restricted, enhancing the building’s bioclimatic properties.
The entrance is placed on the western side and is protected behind a long, stone wall on the northern side, and the volume of the first floor levitating above, dotted with small, irregular openings.
The outdoor color and material palette is informed by the natural landscape. Τhe hard surfaces of the driveway are paved in cobble stones.

The pool serves as the central element of the architectural composition of the residence, functioning as the core around which the design unfolds.
